One of Jacky’s favorite accomplishments with the august was when they won Sixthman’s songwriting contest, earning them tickets and performance slots on the Americana cruise “The Cayamo.” After attending shows of Lyle Lovett and Buddy Miller by day, they got to jam out in the penthouse suite with Brandi Carlile, Shawn Mullins, and Marc Broussard by night.

July 2001
Jacky formed a band full of high school classmates, and performed some sweet first gigs around town, such as the Taste of Chicago.

April 2001
Just before her sophomore year of high school, while bummed and grounded for “borrowing”/crashing her dad’s car, Jacky picked up guitar and almost immediately started writing songs. Only a year later, she recorded her first acoustic record with The Hounds’singer John Hunter. Hunter headlined Jacky’s first show at Hard Rock Café in Chicago, where they sold all 72 of the CDs they burned at home.

She has since sung at the Friendly Confines a dozen times, including her most favorite experience this fall for the World Series Champs to be!

August 2007
Wojtek, Petey, Tim and her toured all across the US (from SXSW in Texas to The World Café in Philly), and built up a great fan base over a four-year time span. They even won studio time through a contest the Cubby Bear put on, which led to their next recording, “The Uptown Sessions.”

December 2016
With Copia Records’ focus turning more to commercial and jingle work, Jacky joined a folk-rock band called the august, while still singing some “I’m Lovin’ It,” on the side. The August dropped their first indie release December 10, 2006 called “Thistle Sparrow, and the Tall, Tall Grass.”

August 2004
After three years of showcasing her song writing at coffee shops such as Vail St. Café (Arlington Heights) and Uncommon Ground (Chicago), she left the University of Iowa to sign with Copia Records in Evanston, IL. The talented Morris “Butch” Stewart produced her first pop record entitled “Yellowdramatic” in 2004.
